Will Shacklock is the managing partner of Melbourne-based stress management consultancy Learn to Relax. Will started his working life as a land surveyor, and after achieving his professional accreditation, moved into Natural Resource Management, supervising the harvesting of native forest in far-east Gippsland. In 2002 Will subjected himself to 10 days of silence and intensive meditation at a Vipassana meditation retreat, sparking an ongoing fascination with anthropology and the workings of the human mind.
He has since spent two years studying and teaching at meditation retreats in Australia and India, and he now specialises in delivering stress management workshops and training programs to workplace teams, and to teachers and students in Victorian schools. Will includes practical techniques in every session, and he empowers his clients to overcome their limiting beliefs and fulfil their potential.
“Stress management techniques are really simple” says Will. “The challenge lies in putting them into practice. When we practice regularly and consistently we feel more balanced, calm and focused, even in ‘stressful’ situations.”
"The change that I saw in myself and my ability to deal with life is remarkable. I highly recommend the Learn to Relax program to people in high stress jobs.”
