Meditation techniques are profoundly simple: focus on an object of choice, and then return your attention to that object every time your mind wanders away. However, while the techniques may be straightforward, the challenge lies in practicing regularly and consistently enough to experience the benefits.
Meditation practice can be a bit like joining the gym: we go hard for the first few weeks and then our commitment can begin to waver. This happens because we find it a struggle to integrate the new regime into our current lifestyle; we simply don’t have the structure, the tools or the support to turn our initial efforts into lasting habits. We offer meditation classes for beginners, supported by comprehensive course materials including a 112-page relaxation workbook and six deep-relaxation and meditation CDs.

Learn how to meditate and create a personalised meditation program in just six weeks with our Learn to Relax group programs. Our programs include comprehensive training in six mindfulness-based meditation and deep-relaxation techniques including breath awareness, body-scanning (Vipassana), mantra and visualisation. Our programs typically include around 15-20 minutes of meditation and deep-relaxation practice. Our approach is one of simplicity, comfort and ease rather than austerity, and the courses are specifically designed for beginners.
On completion of a Learn to Relax Group program you will have:
- a solid understanding of the nature, philosophy and practice of mindfulness
- learned and practiced six meditation/deep-relaxation techniques
- developed the ability to quickly calm yourself, anywhere and at any time
- experienced the benefits of having a strong, quiet and clear mind, and
- gained the skills and confidence to begin an ongoing, personalised meditation practice.
