The Truth about Anxiety

At Learn to Relax, we view anxious thoughts and emotions in a particular way. "Anxiety is the result of chronic over-stimulation of the central nervous system", says Learn to Relax anxiety specialist Kylie Shacklock. "The good news is that we CAN learn how to consciously control our nervous system and bring it back into balance. We can also learn to free ourselves of the anxious and worrying thoughts that limit us. All we have to do is learn these skills and then practice them. When you commence the Learn to Relax program you'll learn and practice our four-step process to get rid of anxiety in the long term.
Step 1: Awareness

Before we can do anything about our stress, we must first become aware that it is there. You'll learn to recognise the signs and symptoms of stress in both body and mind.

You'll learn a range of simple, practical stress management skills to control your nervous system, become more resilient to stress and let go of anxious thoughts.

|
To gain the benefits of any skill you have to practice it! You'll learn how to integrate stress management techniques into your everyday life so that they become normal for you.
